Physician Code of Conduct

Last Updated: June 30, 2025

Stateside Scripts, Inc. partners only with licensed providers who commit to high standards of professional and ethical conduct. This code describes the expectations that providers offering care through the Stateside platform agree to uphold. It is intended to protect patients and to support safe, ethical, evidence-based care.

01Licensure and qualifications

Providers must hold an active, unrestricted license in each state where they treat patients and must practice only within the scope of that license and their training. Providers are responsible for maintaining their credentials and complying with the rules of their licensing boards.

02Independent clinical judgment

Every clinical decision rests with the treating provider. Providers exercise independent medical judgment in the patient's best interest and are never required or pressured to prescribe a particular treatment, to prescribe at all, or to meet any sales target. A provider will decline to prescribe when treatment is not clinically appropriate.

03Standard of care and appropriate prescribing

Providers deliver care consistent with the applicable standard of care and current evidence. They prescribe only after an adequate evaluation of the patient, including a review of relevant history and information, and only when there is a legitimate medical purpose. Providers do not prescribe based on inadequate information.

04Informed consent and patient autonomy

Providers explain the benefits, risks, and reasonable alternatives of recommended treatments in understandable terms, answer questions, and respect each patient's right to make their own decisions, including the right to decline care.

05Honesty and communication

Providers communicate truthfully and clearly, avoid misleading claims, and document care accurately. They are responsive to patient questions and concerns within a reasonable time.

06Privacy and confidentiality

Providers protect patient privacy and handle health information consistent with applicable law and our Privacy Policy. Patient information is used only for legitimate care and operational purposes.

07Conflicts of interest

Providers avoid conflicts of interest and do not accept improper incentives, kickbacks, or inducements that could influence clinical decisions. Compensation arrangements are structured so that they do not reward over-prescribing or compromise patient care.

08Professional boundaries and non-discrimination

Providers maintain appropriate professional boundaries and treat all patients with respect and dignity, without discrimination. They do not engage in conduct that exploits the provider–patient relationship.

09Continuity, follow-up, and referrals

Providers support appropriate follow-up and monitoring, advise patients when in-person or emergency care is needed, and make referrals when a patient's needs fall outside what telehealth can safely address.

10Compliance and reporting

Providers comply with applicable laws and regulations, including those governing controlled substances and advertising, and cooperate with quality and safety reviews. Concerns about conduct or patient safety can be reported to admin@statesidescripts.com.
